Thiruvananthapuram Railway CHILDLINE conducted an OPEN House Program at Karimadom Colony, Thiruvananthapuram

On 24th May 2023, Thiruvananthapuram Railway Childline conducted an Open House program at Karimadam Anganwadi, Thiruvananthapuram. The program begins with a welcome speech and an introduction of Open House by Mrs. Zeena Sunil (Coordinator, Railway Childline, TVC). The Presidential address was delivered by Mr. A. V. George (Project & HR Manager, Don Bosco Veedu Society, Thiruvananthapuram). The program was inaugurated by Mr. Suresh (Ward Counsellor). Mr. Manuel George (Program Manager Don Bosco Veedu Society), Mrs. Sreekala (Anganwadi Teacher), Mrs. Priyanka and Mrs. Athulya (Nurse, Health Center) and Mrs. Haseena (Community Worker, Karimadom) convey Felicitations to the program. In this program, Children and Parents interacted with the authorities regarding their needs and problems around them. The Special guest and Panelist members assure that action will be taken on each and every problem, and they assure about informing the problem to higher authorities. Mr. Sreelal (Team Member, Railway Childline) conducted an icebreaker session for the children. At the end of the session the Special Guests & Panelists Honored the SSLC toppers of Karimadom colony. During this program, Master Fayaz sang a song. In total, 48 children and adults (13) actively participated. The program was concluded with a Vote of Thanks by Mrs. Thahira (Team Member, Railway Childline, TVC).

During the Open House program, children inquire with the panelists about their queries, dilemma, problems, their present situations, family crisis, and complication around their society. The panelist specially, the HR Manager, Ward Councilor, Nurses and Community workers were encouraging the children and assures all the facilities to them. The Angwanwadi teachers were also interacted with the people.  Some of the children demanded for a play ground for girls, School bags, and Music instruments for them.  The panelists noted the demand and promised to do as soon as possible.   All the children and parents are actively participated in this program.

Railway Childline is an active and effective part of Childline. The outreach programs of the project mainly focused on child protection and providing awareness about Childline and its activities.
