Sunday is always a special day for the children. They get to relax, unlike the rest of the days in the camp. The children woke up at 6:30 a.m. and got ready for the exciting Sunday games session. They were divided into groups and played dodgeball. All the children engaged actively with much energy and had breakfast. An informal assembly was organised where the schedule and duties for the day were explained. The children then spent their time productively by engaging in practice sessions for the ‘END GAME’ (concluding ceremony). They also utilized the time to prepare materials for the Marvel Camp magazine. The children who were Christians got to attend the Sunday mass, after which lunch was served. The children also got time to sit in groups and prepare for the upcoming campfire as a team. This was followed by ‘Marvel Studios and a final evaluation test of the ‘Fun with English sessions.
A session on ‘Importance of Mental Health and Healing’ by Fr. Thomas Varkey was eye-opening for the children. The most anticipated part of the night was the campfire; the theme for the campfire in MARVEL 2023 was ‘Halloween’. Various competitions were held around the campfire, including group songs and make-believe customs based on the theme. After the children went to sleep, the staff had an evaluation meeting where they assessed the activities of the day and planned the activities for the next day.
