Volunteers are important human resources in the successful implementation of a project. DREAM Trivandrum organised a two days training for the volunteers of the project. Ten selected volunteers attended the session. The program was inaugurated by Shri Rajesh, CI Thampanoor police station and presided over by Rev Fr Saji Elambaseril, Director Don Bosco Veedu Society. The training was mainly focused in empowering the volunteers through ore theoretical knowledge on the addiction, counselling and related activities. The sessions on the addiction counselling was taken by Shri Siji Antony, Vice principal TRADA institute of social sciences. Another session on the relevant practices related with the drugs were handled by Shri Jayaraj PK, Assistant excise commissioner. The team was introduced with their involvement in the project by Mr Anoop Raj, State coordinator DREAM, and a session on case history by Ms Harsha Thampi, Counsellor Don Bosco Rehabilitation center for boys Monviala.
Through the two days volunteers training program the team was able to rebuild the ideas that the volunteers were having on the addiction and its practices. The program was concluded with the distribution of the certificates.
