I am V. S. Aadithya, final year social work student of National College who currently completed 20 days of concurrent field visit at Don Bosco Nivas, Thampanoor. First of all, I would like to thank all the agency staff for guiding me to grow as a professional social worker. I still remember the first day I joined as an intern having a little knowledge about the working of the NGO, from there I was given proper guidance and information about the different projects and its working. The main projects operating under the NGO were CHILDLINE, MIRACLE, SHELTER HOME, DREAM, KISMAT, KEEN, IMPACT,
RAILWAY CHILDLINE. All the projects operating under the NGO targets for the wellbeing of children. I was able to work as a part of various projects and lend my hand in the successful working of the projects. I was given plenty of opportunities to develop my skills as a social worker for which I am extremely grateful to the coordinators. My time in the NGO was enlightening for me as I was able develop more insight into the professional social work field. I had spent a great deal of time with the children at both Shelter home and Miracle which made me feel like I have bonded with them. The experience I received from Don Bosco Veedu Society was completely satisfying for me and helped me learn about the various services that are much needed for the upliftment of children. As an aspiring social worker, I will always keep in mind the experience I received from here and try my best to incorporate this knowledge in my professional life.
