GRP Training Thiruvananthapuram Railway CHILDLINE conducted a GRP Training program at the Central Railway Station, Trivandrum

Fr. Saji Elambasseril (Director, Railway Childline, Thiruvananthapuram) took a session on the topic of Revised SOP to the GRP officials of TVC at the Meeting Hall.

On 24th February 2023, Thiruvananthapuram Railway Childline organized a Training program for GRP (Government Railway Police) officials of Thiruvananthapuram Central Railway Station.  The session was handled by Fr. Saji Elambasseril (Director, Railway Child Help Desk, TVC) on the topic Revised SOP (Standard Operating Procedures).  In this training session discussed about the various issues faced by the children and various procedures which is held in the Railway stations. And also discussed on the topic “Standards Operating Procedure” – SOP, a set of step-by-step instructions compiled by an organization to help workers carry out routine operation and it includes Child in contact with Railways, Child welfare committee (CWC), Child Help Group (CHG), Procedure for taking care of the child found on Train/Railway premises, Roles and responsibilities of different stakeholders.  GRP officials were actively participated in this program and they shared their experiences.  In this session, games were conducted and this encouraged them fruitfully.  The program was welcomed by Mrs. Zeena Sunil (Coordinator, RCHD) and feedback was given by Mr. Jayaprakash (ASI, GRP). 30 participants were attended the program.

Railway Childline is an active and effective part of Childline. The outreach programs of the project mainly focused on child protection and providing awareness about Childline and its activities.
