Action for Children and by Children – The Celebration of World Children’s Day- Kerala

Participation in sport improves children’s educational attainment and skills development including empowerment, leadership and self-esteem – contributing to their overall well-being and future prospects, “It’s long been understood that sport promotes children’s health and physical development, but now we have solid evidence to suggest that sport can have a powerful impact on their overall education and life skills development. “We must use this evidence to inspire investment in sports for children, especially the most vulnerable. CHILDLINE in collaboration with UNICEF Selected sports for developments as main theme to lead children away from cyber and social media addiction to sports addiction, and ensure that every child learns at least one sport and thereby improves their development. As part of this, our fourth day programs were conducted at Govt HS and HSS Balaramapuram.
Mrs. Saritha, School Principal Presided over the function and Mr Sonilal, School HM inaugurated the program.
In the presence of dignitaries, the children took pledge against substance abuse delivered by Kumari Adila , Sports Team captain and also read the Children’s Day Message from the Hon. District Collector by Mr Askar S, CHILDLINE. Mr. Bavas J, Physical education Teacher welcomed the participants and Mr Sivaprasad , CHILDLINE delivered vote of thanks. Team organized sports competitions without losing their school studies, and organized an exhibition mainly focusing the ill effects of drugs. The Sports kit which was provided from the UNICEF was handed over to the school authorities.
