The RCHD staff of Thiruvananthapuram Railway Childline conducted a station Outreach at Varkala Railway Station on 19 October 2022. Mr. Nishand (Station Master) granted permission to spread Childline awareness at the Railway Station premises, and we discussed creating a resource map of Varkala Railway Station.

Visibility posters were fixed at the Ticket counter wall, and brochures on CHILDLINE were distributed to the passengers, with the permission of Mr. Prem Das, the CTI, to spread more awareness to the public.

The programme aimed to spread awareness about the CHILDLINE to the signal level indicators staff, engineering section staff, track maintenance workers, electrical power staff, train managers, GRP officers, stall vendors, cleaning staff, passengers, and auto drivers. They actively participated and supported our initiative. Mrs. Roji (Health Inspector, Varkala) conveyed her gratitude to the RCHD team for organizing the programme.

Railway Childline conducted Railway station outreach at the nearest Railway Stations, which aims to spread awareness about CHILDLINE and the functions of Railway Childline. The Railway Station outreaches help provide a friendly relationship with the stakeholders and ensure the safety of the children who come across the Railway Station.

Railway Childline is an active and essential part of Childline. The outreach programs of the project mainly focused on child protection and providing awareness about Childline and its activities.
