Don Bosco Nivas is a temperory shelter facility to provide a safe and comfortable short stay for children in need of care and protection.

Project Description

Don Bosco Nivas is a residential centre intended to provide temporary shelter to at risk children arriving through railways or rescued by CHILDLINE from different parts of the district of Trivandrum. We provide a caring and nurturing environment here. Children are provided emergency shelter, clothing and medication, short term skill training and long term rehabilitation services. This centre is registered under Juvenile Justice (Care and Protection of Children) Act 2000 with facilities to accommodate 25 children at a time.


  • To Rescue and protect children from trauma of physical and sexual abuse, extreme neglect, being abandoned and being a victim of child labour or beggary.
  • To help the children overcome their initial trauma by individual counseling and increasing the self-acceptance and restoring dignity
  • To provide children with vocational training and basic literacy education
  • To unite the children with their families or provide institutional care
